And so, the packing has begun! While I am a die hard procrastinator, I can trust myself to only procrastinate until it is the last possible minute before most people would start panicking. That being said, I decided today that it was time to begin at least gathering clothing items since we leave for Boston on Wednesday. Packing for nearly four seasons with only two suitcases is a lot harder than it seems, however packing staples has been my motto/saving grace. Currently, I've got heaps of denim packed, as well as tops, however I am thoroughly avoiding packing shoes. While packing is an obvious wake up call in itself, I don't think I'll actually realize my school year abroad is happening until I get there. It's one of those things where the idea is easy to throw around in your mind but the situation is difficult to actualize until you're living it.

With my days numbered in suburbia, I've also been trying to hit all of my favorite spots around my town/area. Whether that be indulging in delicious foods from my favorite restaurants or simply relishing in free time at home, I've been trying to just soak everything up. Another stop was the wildflowers along the expressway, which seems to be a major attraction for our area. After shooting these pictures at sun down, onlookers also took some pictures in front of these plentiful wildflowers. You'd never guess that these pictures were shot in New Jersey, which is what I love about it. Combined with my understated fringe kimono + flower spotted shift dress, this makes for a perfect end of summer frolic look.

Despite being away only for a few days, my days spent in Dallas ending up feeling like a week, which I'd say is a successful vacay. From indulging in southern delights to conquering the residential shopping grounds, we were always on the move. With so much to do, feeling under the weather was not something I needed, but it was bound to happen (Isabelle problems). On a less horrible-feeling evening, shooting this bold snakeskin print + leather mini number helped cheer me up, as blogging does. At least until the insane heat got to me. When riding in my sister's car earlier today, I was thinking about how in my last Dallas post I said how it was so unexpectedly cold. Yeah, August in Texas proved to be verryy different than February in Texas. Anyway, this faux leather clutch I recently received from a friend is the perfect size for just about any occasion and I am so excited to use it in France! It went perfectly with my printed tee + [chipped] purple nails; it was the outfit that was meant to happen.

Now that I'm home, I'm planning on making the most of every day I have until I head off to France! That includes swimming, not packing, sushi dates, not packing, and regaining my deteriorating health, haha. Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Goodnight or good morning wherever you may be!

Summer Loving Playlist

-Photos via Tumblr-

With summer coming to a close very soon, I've  compiled a little playlist of some tunes I have been enjoying lately. In general, I'd say they're all "head bobbing" sun roof down jam sesh material, so you can try that if you'd like (or just hang out and listen). Either way, I hope you enjoy these songs! I originally planned on posting an outfit, but the lighting hasn't been great lately and today, the day it actually was, I just had to get sick. I swear I get some sort of out of whack before every trip. No joke. As of now, I will be heading to Dallas tomorrow with my mom to see my sister, so hopefully I will be able to shoot a bit there. Look forward to an outfit post very soon and I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

One Direction in Philly

And yet again,  I have gone another two months w/o a Youtube vid. I guess I'm going to accept the fact that this is a recurring thing considering videos are such a pain! While they're a pain, I also have a lot of fun creating them, so if you have any requests, just throw them at me now so I can do some filming before I head to France. Today's video is showing bits and pieces of my (second) One Direction concert experience. This time, they were in a much larger stadium and definitely upped their set design/line up. I hope you guys enjoy this vid! Also, keep in mind that we got stuck in a ton of traffic due to a bad highway accident (therefore we were slightly late) so I couldn't get too much footage going there. xo

Wearing:// Top: Zara, Skirt: Topshop, Shoes: Vince, Bag: Juicy Couture (Brentwood Leather Mini), Earrings: Local Boutique (Crystal Baguette Ear Jackets), Lips: Rebel by MAC w/Sephora clear gloss

I know, I know- I'm a bit late on the holographic trend. But there's no time like the present, right? When I spotted these shoes, I knew they'd fit nicely into my late summer transition into Fall, especially in Europe. While most sandals add a more lax vibe to outfits, this pair maintains the style factor while throwing in some comfort. Lately, I've been paying more attention to architectural details in different ways, as well as thoroughly enjoying mixed textures + metals, and I think this outfit wraps all that up into one look. The skirt has a waxed/glossy/rough texture that I obviously can't explain very well, but lets just say it's unique. Cool, even. I'm getting really creative with my adjectives as you can see. Oh, and I have to mention my new earrings- in love! I took a liking to the perplexing "ear jacket" trend (as Bauble Bar dubs them) quite a while ago, probably around the time I mass followed a bunch of jewelry designers. Normally, they are a bit more elaborate, with multiple jewels and tones along the bottom, but finding this simple faux diamond stud pair was a wonderful thing. I sure love me some jewelry.

When answering an ask on Tumblr about my future travels, I realized that I still have a lot of traveling left this month! At the end of this week, I will be heading to St. Louis for a few days with my mom to help move my brother into college. And a week later, I am going to Dallas to do some early birthday celebrating with my sister and mom too. In addition, I am going to Six Flags this Tuesday with my brother (Kingda Ka, we're coming for ya!) and then the 1D concert on Wednesday w/Allison! I'm such a busy bee- but I quite like that. I hope you guys have a wonderful week! xo

Coffee Talk

With my school year of traveling Europe approaching, I thought I would start doing "photo essay" inspired posts, which will basically be a series of pictures from specific places, as opposed to my more general photo diaries for longer vacations. For example, my longtime crony Kirra and I went out to lunch the other day in a small shopping area and discovered a new coffee shop, which happened to replace a chocolate store that we still miss. #qualitychocolatesneverforget Anyway, after spending what seemed like a half an hour scanning the extensive menu and then receiving our drinks shortly after, we were smitten. It is a place that has the type of vibe where way after finishing your delectable drinks or pastries, you will find yourself deep in conversation when you suddenly realize your lunch date has turned into an all day affair. Nothing better than that. Let me know what you guys think of this style of post and hope you are having a wonderful week! xoxo

On my most recent trip to New York for visa related business, my mom and I were able to fit in some much needed shopping. Okay, not really 'much needed', but now that I will not need a uniform for the coming year in France, I have the justification of replacing my blazers and button-downs for euro style clothing! In preparation for this coming year, I've been trying to buy less in bulk and more consciously by buying some interchangeable pieces that can carry me from season to season. Because we alllll know I can't fit my clothes into only two suitcases like I need to. :) Although, this article from Teen Vogue has proved very helpful, I must say. One item on my list of 'need to buy' for a long time has been a t-shirt dress. While I didn't find the exact one I wanted, I found this stretchy bodycon-ish midi dress from Brandy Melville, which I can see myself styling through fall + winter. In order to add a bit of pizazz, I picked up a moto-style vest from the Aritzia sale that definitely adds to the look without adding too much fabric for the current weather.

Aside from the heat I just referred to ^^, can we discuss how annoying the weather has been of late? I'm in some serious need of sun and mother nature says, "Nope! Have some rain and gloomy clouds?" In the mean time, I've been practicing my French like a madwoman (I recommend the film 'Coco Chanel Avant Chanel') and attending beach concerts? Yeah, I don't know either. Seeing as I'm quite scatter brained and the night is no longer young, I shall be off to bed! Hope you guys had a splendid weekend. xx
